We welcome all visitors and will do our best to accommodate individuals and groups with accessibility issues. We have WiFi, a wheelchair accessible toilet, drop off point at the entrance to the museum and level, accessible parking with a level accessible entrance. The threshold into the museum is also level and we have a dropped counter at reception.

Due to the building being grade 1 listed, some areas are less well lit than others. The building’s first floor is level by ramps and dropped kerbs.

Essential companions go free into the museum, however as a charity, all donations are welcomed. The nearest Changing Places toilets are at Lea Green and Shipley Country park.

We welcome assistance dogs in the museum and are happy to provide water and treats for them!

We have a hearing loop fitted throughout the museum and some of our staff are sign language trained (however their rotas may mean they aren’t available all the time) and can offer audio guides.

Please note that due to the historic nature of the site, the basement of the North Mill cannot be accessed with a wheelchair. We do however show a video commentary showing a virtual tour of the basement and offer a complimentary tea/coffee for those unable to access all of the site.

For autistic visitors, the museum is least busy Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 2pm-4pm.

K’s Taxi’s are a local wheelchair accessible taxi firm. See their site here:
