We welcome all visitors and will do our best to accommodate individuals and groups with accessibility issues. We have a wheelchair accessible toilet, drop off point at the entrance to the museum and accessible parking. Carers go free into the museum, however as a charity, all donations are welcomed. The nearest Changing Places toilets are at Lea Green and Shipley Country park.

We have braille to help those with visual impairments and welcome assistance dogs in the museum.

We have a hearing loop fitted throughout the museum and some of our staff are sign language trained (however their rotas may mean they aren’t available all the time) and can offer audio guides.

Please note that due to the historic nature of the site, the basement of the North Mill cannot be accessed with a wheelchair. We do however show a video commentary showing a virtual tour of the basement and offer a complimentary tea/coffee for those unable to access all of the site.

For autistic visitors, the museum is least busy Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 2pm-4pm.
